The school holidays are ending (happy or sad?)…

I can’t complain. These holidays have been pretty good actually. The weather has been nice and the boys have been kept busy.

My eldest is at that age where we wants to “go for a walk” with his older cousins. I get so nervous and find it really hard to accept he is getting older. I mean, we used to do when we were kids, but things have changed!

I have spent almost every day either at the park, feeding animals, at the pool, at the movies, at football clinics out for dinner… AND there is still a big camping expedition to come so it’s not over yet! I’ve hardly got any work done, but I’m not complaining. These days have been precious and I wouldn’t swap them for the world. I’m lucky I get to stay home with them…

Today, I’m just sharing some of our school holiday photos. Just a little reminder for me when I look back and they’re teenagers and don’t want to do anything with me… 🙁

Love these little people.

Have a great weekend! I’m off to take photos of my boring piece of dirt today as the site cut and retaining wall is booked for next week. I can barely sleep! X

I love the school hols and by Sunday I will be sad and grumpy as I tear around the house trying to tidy and organise before the big return to school and work. It happens every time so I don’t fight it anymore.

I’m loving the holidays too, now that the weather is warmer we have so many more options. I can’t resist this one comment though: please let your boys go for those walks! The world is actually a safer place now than when we were kids. Random and tragic things still happen but they’re extremely rare. I let my boys (8 and 5) wander the bike paths and parklands in our suburb for as long as they like. They’re not allowed to cross a road (they can walk for hours without crossing one!), they have to stick together, and they’re not allowed to go into anyone’s house. They have so many great adventures and feel so independent. It’s scary but I think it’s good for them. Anyway, off my soapbox now 😉

I love school holidays because it is a breeze to get to work 🙂

The traffic gets a bit crazy when school is on …

Honestly, only three more sleeps and my my car will be warming up on Monday morning ready for drop off. I’ve played handball most days for the past two weeks. I’ve made banana muffins for most of the neighbourhood. I’ve made numerous sandcastles down at the beach and there’s only so many ugly bird feathers that are supposed to look like flags on that castle. So, this little Mum is HAPPY school is going back!! Gosh, must go and pack school lunches, or is that a little too early??

I do love the school holidays with no rush, no routines and no packed lunches, but I do also so love it when it is time for them to go back haha. I have to send you a photo of one of my friends, you and her are spitting images and her son looks almost identical to your middle boy. Kinda spooky actually 🙂 Enjoy the last of the holidays hun xx
