The Block 2018 Gatwick: Main Bathroom Reveal

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Did you watch the bathroom reveals last night? What did you think about Hans and Courtney taking out the win? I thought Bianca and Carla had it in the bag! Hans and Courtney were so far behind all week I thought they’d struggle to finish. I’m glad they went with the terrazzo tiles though because they were divine (even though Shelley doesn’t like them!). BUT Bianca and Carla’s 450kg stone wall and the ceiling was the BIG winner for me.

Check out their efforts below…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Courtney and Hans

Score: 25.5/30

It was ‘wows’ all round as the judges set foot into Hans and Courtney’s deluxe main bathroom, which scored an impressive 25.5 – winning them the week! They achieved their high-end, sophisticated look with the use of a stunning terrazzo floor tile, which worked well with black tapware and quirky little details like that ‘sad face’ window pot and the hanging plant. The round double sinks and vanity, complete with terrazzo nook for lotions and potions, provided a focal point to the amenities. All up, a sensational effort – well done, guys!

Bianca and Carla

Score: 25/30

Bianca and Carla knew they had delivered a great room, thanks, in part, to that stunning 450 kg stone feature wall and their gorgeous, bespoke wooden slatted ceiling – all three judges thought so too. The girls chose a round mirror to lend drama to the room, black and chrome tap ware, and a simple shower and bath, just understated enough to allow their two statement pieces to shine. And it was SO close to being a first-place-winning room. I think we can all agree, this is certainly a space fit for a penthouse!

Jess and Norm

Score: 24.5/30

To say Norm and Jess were pleased with the execution of their stunning, modern-style main bathroom would be an understatement. “We have outdone ourselves,” Jess said, proudly, after finishing the room, which featured beautiful grey floor tiles, two gorgeous concrete Nood Co mirrors, and a large grey “stone” bath. The use of a gorgeous diaphanous curtain behind the bath and a large skylight gave the bathroom a light, bright, airy feel which the judges loved. Good work, guys – you really HAVE outdone yourselves.

Kerrie and Spence

Score: 22.5/30

Self-confessed “perfectionists” Kerrie and Spence delivered a beautifully executed main bathroom that ticked all the boxes. The couple chose a black and white theme for their room, offsetting their gorgeous white marble tiles with matte black tapware, a black pendant light and black cabinetry to produce a high-end, luxe effect that was truly swoon-worthy.

Hayden and Sara

Score: 21.5/30

Going into Sunday’s judging, Sara and Hayden were quietly confident that their main bathroom, complete with green wall, brass fixtures and statement tiles would wow the judges. And while they weren’t as effusive in their praise as the couple may have liked, there was still a lot to like about the couple’s first room, which featured brass tap ware, a textured tile, and a large bath with generous wine-holding caddy. And what’s not to love about that last feature?

I thought the girls would win for sure. I loved that stone wall and the ceiling was gorgeous. Was definitely my fave bathroom. Didn’t like the garden wall in Sara and Hayden’s bathroom and what was the random square mirror in Kerrie and Spence’s room?

The stone wall was stunning. Thought they added some stylish features. Overall too “cold” looking for me even with the timber touches but I am a more is more rather than minimalist decorator. So over seeing the same stools with a candle next to the bath.
