It’s baaaack! The Block 2018 is back. This time we’re watching the contestant transform the old Gatwick hotel. If you aren’t sure who is who yet I have a post here where you can meet the contestants.
Last night was the reveal of a 48 hour challenge to decide who had dibs on apartments. The budgets were healthy, the contestants were pumped and it was their first taste of the hell (hehehe) they were about to endure over the next 10 weeks.
Check out their efforts below…
Bianca and Carla
I can’t wait to see what these 2 produce over the next few weeks. It was a gutsy move to paint the top half of the room black – I like it! Bunk beds are a nightmare and I personally hate them. They can’t ever look good, no matter how much you style them.
Courtney and Hans
The old whimsy roof detail… cute but a little sickly I think. The day bed could have been done better and there is a lot of random floating pieces of furniture in here. I like the general feel of the room though.

Hayden and Sara
These two may be the ones to watch? They cam away with the win last night, but did spend the most money and used A LOT of tradies to make it all happen. I like the room though. The wall niche was a good idea.

Jess and Norm
The built-in and cute nook for the bed was a good idea in theory. But totally unsafe and not at all legal. Bummer. They didn’t use the long rectangle room to their advantage unfortunately.

Kerrie and Spence
This was a my favourite. I think because it’s understated, less overwhelming and practical. While I do like see what the contestants choose, I also like simple!
