Room reveal days

So, it’s room reveal day… and what was that day like?
Well most of us either had done an ‘all nighter’ the night before or had managed to get 1-2 hours sleep.
Amie and I never did an all nighter. We were always pretty organised and managed to get about 2 hrs!
Scott Cam would whistle from the front of the houses at 9am. No excuses and no one got extra time. 9am was really 9am! But in the 2 hours leading up to 9am we would have cameras, sound guys and producers all in our way trying to get the best shot of us. It was chaos! We would also like to shower and get dressed decently as this was the only day of the week we weren’t expected to be renovating or doing challenges. This was a day where we might have some publicity shots and do bigger interviews.
After Scotty’s whistle he spoke to us out the front of our houses. Then each couple would spend an hour and a half doing interviews and ‘walk-throughs’ of our rooms (you are yet to see all of this!). We were always dog-tired and no one could string a sentence together. Haha!
Then we would be given a few hours freedom! This was the time judges spent going through our rooms.
So what did we get up to in these few hours??? This WAS the best time of the week.
We would all head somewhere in Bridge Road for brunch, a coffee and a de-brief on how we went the night before. There were no cameras so we loved to laugh, bitch and cry about everything! Sometimes our families visited us and came along. I’ve met everyone’s families and spent lots of time with them all.
Then we would go shopping, have a manicure, or pedicure and became addicted to Thai Massage. Oh boy, I thought Rod was going to choke one day snoring during a massage. Waz was an expert and so addicted to them. He’d be taking us along to have a massage every week. He was even sneaking them during the week! Ha!
So shock horror! OMG Polly AND Amie AND I would all go and get our nails done together….we were still normal people!
Then after all pampering we would meet back at a pub (which we named the local) to await our call for the final judging.
The boys might have a beer and Polly would fall asleep in my lap on the couch!
Here are some pictures….
I’ll post again later in the week about the judging process and what we would do AFTER the results were in.

Loving the show so far (although have always been some what obsessed by it)!
Is that the Mountain View pub? Been a few years since we've been there but does look familiar….

can't wait to see who wins, and why!!! and I'm still scratching my head as to why you'd put a fan in the front room of a period house!!! I'm sure it will all make sense tomorrow -??? maybe/??? LOL

Loving it. I hope there's a bloppers show afterwards – what a cracker that would be.
So nice that you could all be friends and support each other during the making of the show.

I love all these extra on the side details. Enhances my viewing pleasure for sure. (I am such a sticky beak!). Even though judging is done and dusted – Good luck for room one. I hope you girls get the cash.

lol – those reaactions about your nails really irked you, huh ?!

I just thought it was a waste of money – I only ever paint my toes as I do too much reno work around the house and know what happens ( and i'd rather have clean short nails, than ruined ones 🙂

You can't let stuff like that bother you though – like Annie with the fan .. everyone has an opinion on things, but it doesn't mean we all can't be friends ( or support you!! 😀 )

    Kum-bay-yah My lord, Kum-bay-ya…

(hope you win too – i've got $$ on you winning the series! :p )

Katrina, you are hilarious! I am loving the behind the scenes angle with you narrating on here, it's always interesting to compare 'reality' tv with 'reality'.

    All the very best
