At lock up, at fix out.

The house is looking more like the house I had envisaged. The cornice is on, the walls are plastered. The doors have arrived and are being hung over the next week – meaning we are at ‘fix out’ stage.

My kitchen has been baked. It was supposed to go in today. Not without some drama of course! Deadlines and communication issues causing a few conflicts. However, after finding a man that was happy to work ALL weekend (and night!) he finished sanding, spraying and baking my kitchen. As long as we threw him some cash and a few long necks, he was happy. God luv him.

I have not seen any of the kitchen pieces, but my husband has. He was happy but occasionally tricked me and said the kitchen was ‘gloss’. No way. My mouth was on the ground. I had communicated that to him “no gloss!” He quickly told me he was kidding when he saw I was about to break into a tantrum.

My kitchen handles are still not here. Will hopefully have them soon. Poor kitchen guy is really over me and told my husband not to tell me about a couple of things (think he is a little intimidated?). After I was told to purchase a new rangehood that is under-mount (meaning you can’t see it), of course the only one in town on that day was a SMEG and was $900. Oh well, to those that will visit my new house…please look at my concealed rangehood. Or else.

I have been buying a few bits of new furniture. I have been playing around with Polyvore to show you what some of my rooms will look like. I will load those pics later. I am off to the house to see what happened today…kitchen? Doors?

*Giggling* at the intimidated man, I think I did the same when we bought our car!
Is the cut out in the 3rd last pic, where the plantation shutters are going?

Looks like an exciting project. I wish I was as adventurous as you. I have lost my nerve to build a house after hearing everyones stories. Maybe one day. Thanks for stopping by our blog and glad we could offer a little inspiration your way. Hayley
