Everyday Gratefuls for 2014

Want to join in for 2014?

Let me share with you what I’m going to do…

My lovely friend Emma initially gave me this idea. She started writing something she was grateful for every day on her private Facebook page (I mentioned it here too). I became addicted to reading them. I waited each day for her to write something new. They were simple little words, but precious and inspiring. She may have been grateful for the weather, a particular food, time with one child, a partnership, her husband… Her grateful message made me think about how we should all do this every day.

Have you seen the 365grateful book? Hailey took a photo everyday to document what she’s grateful for. It’s amazing and inspiring. She claims that when we start to be truly grateful for things we can unlock the remarkable powers of gratitude.

Oprah writes a Gratitude Journal. “I know for sure that appreciating whatever shows up for you in life changes your personal vibration. You radiate and generate more goodness for yourself when you’re aware of all you have and not focusing on your have-nots.” – Oprah Winfrey.

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah Winfrey.

There’s even an app to help you write your own journal. And here’s another girl who did it for an entire year.

So, here’s the plan…

I’m going to write a grateful message every day on my Facebook page and use the hashtag #everydaygratefuls. I chose Facebook because it’s easy to click on the hashtag and find others doing the same. You don’t have to take a photo (but you can!), just use the hashtag to document your grateful journey. If you forget a day it doesn’t matter, just add a gratitude message when you can. You can post on Twitter and Instagram too – whatever takes your fancy.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” – Melody Beattie.

Come over to my Facebook page and see my #everydaygratefuls and hopefully you’ll be inspired to join in too. I’m hoping 2014 can be a HUGE year for you all with lots of positive energy and productivity.

Do you think you’d like to play along?

Have a great day and HAPPY NEW YEAR! xx
