On top of the scoreboard this week was Caro and Kingi. The judges gave them 28.5/30. They gave the render a rest in the rooms this week (yay!). Sticking to their industrial style they produced a very cool study with feature shelving.
“I love the fact they keep showing us something different in the industrial area,” Shaynna said. “This couple have the best eye – I just love what they do.”
The feature tile in the bathroom was well received by the judges – but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

Glad to see they have moved up the ladder. They received a score of 27.5/30. They went for a simpler style with black, white and natural. Their laundry and office was good with lots of storage.
“I think this week represents a new beginning for them,” Neale said. “You can sense it, a whole new energy.”
I hated the tiles in the powder room though. What did you think of those?

Their styling is good. I wasn’t overly happy with that colour choice, but it still suited the room. The office was great with the stone desk area and I love the shelves. They even had polished floor with heating! The powder room runs rings around all the others with the floor to ceiling custom cupboard.
“There is just the right amount of glamour here – it’s perfect,” Whitaker said. “I’m feeling they’re back on track in terms of styling and envisaging their market and potential buyer.”
The judges didn’t like the tiling in the laundry – I am on the fence about that one. On the one hand – it’s different (and you can do different in a laundry), but I agree it might make my eyes go crazy.
They also sacrificed space in the study and laundry for a butler’s pantry. Can’t wait to see kitchen week! What do you think?

All 3 rooms were pretty good, but they all didn’t seem to match in style. It was also confusing to Shaynna as to why they would put a bidet in the powder room and not the master?
“I’m feeling a bit depressed. It doesn’t feel like the powder room that goes with that space,” Neale said.
I liked the laundry and I liked the study (although a built in desk would have been better). But the powder room wasn’t great. It was all out of proportion.

“Everything in here looks uncomfortable and kind of cheap and that’s so not what I felt about the bedroom,” Neale said.
I did not enjoy the office – the desk was country style and so was the laundry? I liked their powder room though – I was glad it was a little lighter in colour. The recessed mirror was great!
