The Block 2018 Gatwick: Guest Bedroom Reveal

I was a little perplexed on guest rooms having walk-in-robes?? That seems such a waste of budget if you ask me? I didn’t really have a favourite. Maybe Hans and Courtney? I did love the simplicity. Also loved Bianca and Carla’s ceiling again, but hoping that’s not the entire house!

Bianca and Carla

Score: 26/30

With a win under their belt, courtesy of Alice’s Domain Challenge, the girls went into this week’s Room Reveals feeling confident. They decided to continue with their trademark timber detailed ceiling, this time with a white backing – and the judges loved it. They also loved their dark velvet bedhead, dark drapes, wall-hung timber bedside tables and that beautiful ‘bespoke’ walk-in, which included lovely black and timber sky-high units complete with brass detail. All up, it was a near-perfect room – and it won them the week!

Courtney and Hans

Score: 25.5/30

After almost not finishing because of their ceiling, Courtney and Hans came back with a vengeance, producing a stunning guest bedroom which nabbed them second place – just half a point off a win! They featured a grey-finish wardrobe (complete with lighting beneath and matte black handles), two beautiful pendant lights, a plain bedhead and gorgeous ‘nude’-coloured bed linen. Their walk-in robe was also spectacular, as was their beautiful choice of artwork.

Jess and Norm

Score: 24.5/30

Norm and Jess well and truly proved they “deserve to be in the penthouse” with their stunning guest bedroom, which featured a beautiful over-sized green velvet bedhead, gorgeous built-in robes and joinery for the inbuilt desk space, as well as a lovely grey chaise lounge and some bespoke wall sconces. All up, it was a beautiful, luxe, very ‘penthouse’ space – and the judges were thrilled.

Kerrie and Spence

Score: 23/30

After their special one-on-one with the judges, Kerrie and Spence went into Sunday night’s Room Reveal judging with a spring in their step. And rightly so. The luxurious space they created, which featured a silver bed head, plantation shutters, a beautiful artwork in shades of green and blue, and that built-in library with dark custom cabinetry, was a hit.

Hayden and Sara

Score: 22.5/30

Hayden and Sara presented a beautifully understated guest bedroom this week, with a pared-back, yet “luxe” look. It featured two beautiful hanging pendants, artwork in blues and green, a glass-top table situated in a nook, simple plush bedhead and linen in dark blues and greens. They also used marble hexagonal side tables to compliment the space.

I felt the same about the walk in robe – money better spent elsewhere – & my guests aren’t staying that long…haha
Have to say, so far I’m not as enthusiastic about this years rooms so far – just a bit ‘no-where’ – no body seems to have a really outstanding flare. I’m still enjoying it though 🙂

  I completely agree Emma…no one stands out with a style that make you go WOW. It’s all a little too bland and safe and the same.

Does anyone know where I can find the fab white bedside wall lamps that Bianca and Carla used in their bedroom above? I’m hoping they come in black too! They’re amazing.
