So much happening

This could be a long one, so get ready!

The photo above was taken by my husbands phone very early this morning. The pressed metal tin splashback is going on in the kitchen. I looked at it a few hours ago and it’s all glued into place, the join has been filled and it’s getting a few more coats of paint. I am loving this look!
The boards above the middle window and above the entrance got a white lick of paint. The bricks have been Tumbled so they have this lovely old roughed up red look. Very happy with how they turned out. The brickie took ages to finish the house because he said they were so heavy! We also ended up with almost another half of the house in bricks left over?? How that happened I don’t know…but my husband got them transferred to his work (it’s like a huge warehouse) where they will stay until the pool goes in and we will use them there somehow!

Lovely white walls everywhere! ‘Antique White USA’ – the only colour I would even consider. Am over feature walls and wanted this house to be calm and less crazy. We lead very hectic work/school lives, so I want the house to be less cluttered and less crazy.

My gorgeous husband making the template for my splashback to be cut from.

Leading into the Games Room. Lots of white in there too!

Study.

Kitchen knobs on the glass doors.

Stone benches. Simple and uncluttered. My new breakfast stools will go along here.

Double vanity. Wasn’t happy that these handles went on as I had bought new ones to change them, but didn’t get them there in time! Nevermind. I can still live with them. The tiler is hard at work putting the wall tiling on at the moment. I have some lovely pebble feature tiles going in the ensuite, bathroom, powder room and laundry.
Laundry floor tiles. I have used the same tile and theme through the whole home. In a previous house I mixed it up a bit, and hated it! Simplicity.

Wall tiles in the shower. Yet to be grouted.

Floor tile bathroom. The sign says ‘Wet Tile’!!
The pattern of the pressed tin called “Lizards”. Love it! It has been sprayed with enamel paint so it won’t scratch or mark. This was the sample piece we tested before buying the whole amount.
Looks good!

Hmmmm…here is a little drama. The knobs have been put on, but not the drawer pulls. I soon realised why. The holes are wrong, the size is wrong! I wanted 2 sets of pull handles on each drawer, so you needed 2 hands to open them as they are quite large and one just didn’t suit. Someone obviously was not listening to the instructions and I am sure they realised when they had so many handles left over that something was wrong. I am just going to wait this one out and see if the kitchen guy lets me know about this first. If not, I can feel a tantrum coming on!!!!!

My front doors have been painted a gloss white. I picked up my 2 sets of handles yesterday as I order gorgeous Fleur De Lis black wrought iron ones with a deadlock/peep hole cover. They should be out on this week sometime.

The driveway and paths have exposed aggregate concrete (little pebbles all through it). It’s all coming together now.

The house should be finished in about 2 weeks. BUT we still won’t be able to get into it for at least another 2 weeks after that. There is a week of obtaining final certificates and council occupancy certificates, then we are doing our floorboards after everything else is done. This will take a couple of days, but then the skirting boards will need to be put back into place and the paint touched up.

The countdown is on….. should I pack??? No! I can pack in 2 days…watch me go. LOL.

Everything is looking amazing.Love the front of the house the front doors look great. Press metal looks good I might get mine one day!! Soon I think but thats what happens when you renovate, you never finish unless you go to sell. I would be ready to stab the handle man in the laundry and kitchen who must be challenged in listening!! Hope all is good with the CHAMBO's …..

Hi Katrina, single or double strength Antique White USA? I want the same on my walls and was suggested to do the walls single strength and the architraves double? I would have thought the opposite.
