Real Estate Stalking in the palm of your hand

Sponsored by Nuffnang and realestate.com.au

I love a good real estate stalk. This has been a favourite pastime of mine for years now. When we built our first house back in 2002 I discovered a real love for interiors and the real estate industry. I never knew I had that passion inside of me until that time. Since then, I’ve built and renovated too many times! Heck, I even HAVE my real estate certificate and was a Real Estate Agent (but I’m too soft and can’t hard-sell haha!). In the past few months I’ve also designed 22 blogs for Real Estate Agents across the country. You think I like real estate?? Hmmmm, yep!

So, for me, flicking through the real estate guide on the weekend is one of my favourite things to do. Even if I’m not in the market to buy a house, I do it so I can see what everyone is building, what they’re worth and how they’ve styled their houses.

But, of course, now with all the best technology, I can do it all from my iPhone. I don’t have to just search Wagga, I can search any city/town and sticky beak at their real estate.

Last week I was asked if I’d like to review the realestate.com.au App. YES, I would thanks, I already had it on my phone so I didn’t need to download it! My task was to find 3 of my dream homes. Oh boy this was going to be fun… more daydreaming?? Yes, please!

I didn’t just stop at these 3 houses! I was searching all over the place. I loved it.

But the App can do so much more…

• With built-in GPS technology, you can see which properties are for sales and to rent near you

• Switch easily between map and list view search results on iPhone and view both map & list view on the one screen on iPad

• Refine your search by price, property types, features and surrounding suburbs

• Save and sync your favourite properties for quick and easy reference via MyREA

• See full listing details of every home to buy and to rent

• Get driving directions to properties or contact the agent with one tap to call or email

• Save open for inspection and auction times straight to your iPhone calendar

So while you’re have a little Summer break and you’re relaxing by the pool, or the beach or wherever you are, download the realestate.com.au App and start searching for your next home or treat it like a magazine for ideas and a spot of daydreaming…

Ok, so now, what do I think my new house is worth?? (my husband is rolling his eyes….) Haha!

Have a great day 🙂

This is what i do every night while i watch TV. I am addicted to realestate.com.au so must give this app a go.
Love looking at houses I cannot afford. Our house is dated and in need of some work, actually a lot of work, so I use it as inspiration .

Love a good real estate stalk ! Spend way too much time on it actually. I am currently stalking a couple of local homes that from the outside tick all my boxes ( picket fence? tick! weather board? tick! Magnolia tree? tick! Walking distance to my favourite cafe? tick!) Any tips on how to approach the owners of a house NOT for sale? 🙂

Just knock on the door and ask! I have heard this many times and you never know until you try. Personally, everything is for sale here! You offer me the right money and I sell! 🙂

I too love a real estate stalk and have always had an interest in property. I think my first job as a real estate journalist with the daily advertiser more than 10 years ago now was what kicked it off. Love getting inspiration for my dream home!

Love the app … going to a visual tool on iphone / ipad is such a revelation when it comes to searching for property, so much better than the desktop experience!

Would love to see something similar for holiday rentals! We advertise in a couple of holiday sites, have our own + a FB page but the visual method for searching would be much better. The sites we list with don’t offer a map based phone/tablet experience through their apps … if anyone who knows who does then let us know! 🙂

Love this app on my phone! I look at it for hours! Especially when visiting new locations 😉 Ive literally just spent 2 hours on it this arvo.
However I don’t like the ipad version! The listings at the bottom are too small & hard to scroll through & the map section is so sensitive that if you accidentally touch the map & move it it dumps your search & looks only in the on screen map section. I wish the ipad app had the opption to not see the map & just listings like on the phone.

Tap on the little settings cog on the map and you can stop the app from doing a new search if you move the map.

I love the realestate.com.au app, its probably one of my highest used one with Mail, Calendar, Facebook and the weather (Pocket Weather). Now that we are seriously looking at building I have spent every spare minute I’ve had over the last few days looking at it. Obsessively! Haha.

I wish they would include the ability to search over sold listings too, as you can do on their site.

Hey there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re utilizing? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different browsers and I must
say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at
a fair price? Kudos, I appreciate it!
