Our family weekend at Bright & Falls Creek

On the weekend we set out on a little trip. Kim at Working Women Australia asked me if I would like to come and talk to a group of people in her town Bright about Social Media. Of course I said yes! I’ve been to Bright a few times and always love visiting. This time I decided to take the whole family along and make a weekend of it by visiting the snow…

Kim owns a B&B on the back of her property – it was gorgeous! Morning kangaroos…

I spotted this little house in Bright – so cute. Lots of weatherboard-style houses down that way. They gave me lots of inspiration for my new house.

Here I am chatting…

I wore my animal print boots.

Here we are heading in to the snow. I didn’t see the whole scenic drive up the mountain as I was car sick! Head was between my knees most of the time. Great start!

10 year old is taking this photo. Yes it was snowing and freezing, but we had the best time!

I did this over and over again. My husband was king of the taboggan’s. I’m sure all the other parents were annoyed at him as he tried to get faster and faster every time. There is a padded barrier at the end to stop you and he kept smashing the barrier and at one stage got airborne and did a backflip! I couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard at him!

The place was thick with snow. I had only ever been to the snow once before and I think I was 8 years old! I loved every minute of it. My boys can’t stop talking about how much fun it was. They go back to school tomorrow and they have their show-and-tell ready 🙂

Here is a little video. I am speaking loud and it was windy!
Last day of the school holidays today… we’ve managed to get through them ok. Lord give me strength to get through just today!
Tomorrow is my plan-for-New-York day. I must have it all organised as we leave in 14 days! I still don’t have a passport because there was a drama with my marriage certificate… fingers crossed it all falls in to place.
I had a birthday yesterday too and Amie made me the most divine cake ever. We’re getting a Facebook page organised for her, so look out!
Have a great day… X

I have to ask how the 10 year old managed to get all the love hearts on the photo?

    • Katrina (author)

      That’s just an App! 🙂

      • Jo

ahh, I thought it was some fluky thing that only a 10 year old could do. Should have guessed it was an app! Meant to say I’ve got some of my 8 year olds animal print in her bedroom on FB today! I’m trying to keep it subtle or else it will take over!

I am amazed this is the only the 2nd time you have been to the snow when you live so close. And you lived in Canberra for a few years. Now if you lived in Perth I would understand.
You look like you had a blast. It is lots of fun. Especially the snowball fights.
Glad you had such a wonderful birthday lovely:)

  • Leonie -Australia

On your NY list, see if you can fit in half a day at Woodbury Common. It’s an outlet outside of NY (you can catch a bus there) and has GREAT shopping. Everything from Jimmy Choo, Barneys, DVF, down to J Crew. I spent 7 very enjoyable hours shopping there. Everything is SUCH a bargain!

  • Letitia

Katrina, my hubby wants to know if you needed chains on your car? xx

    • Katrina

We had them but didn’t need them. Apparently you can find out before you go if you need them, but conditions can change anytime so it’s best to have them. 🙂
