IKEA fail

Remember my excitement yesterday?

I went, I saw, I bought nothing. Well that’s a lie, because I did buy 6 drinnking glasses and a packet of 3 x scissors.

I had good intentions. I wandered for ages, but I came home empty handed. It’s always the way isn’t?! I have been cracking myself up over the whole thing! Ahhhh well, maybe next time.

Hey, what about The Voice last night! I’m sad it’s over. I have been like a tweeting machine during the show 🙂

Don’t worry, we still have 2 weeks of The Block to go (aaaaand you *might* see a familiar face there next week!), then we’ve got BIG BROTHER. Yep, I’m a sucker!

Today is a rambling post…. that’s ok, we have those every now and then. Today I have a billion things to do including another doctor’s visit – this time to a skin surgeon to make an appointment to have something (not sure what it technically is yet), from my face. Possibly sun related. Argh! I had a basal cell carcinoma on my forehead  in 2009 which needed 9 stitches . Maybe now I have another one. Sigh… The medical problems are getting freaking ridiculous for my liking! I spend more time and money worrying about that than anything else. Anyway, gotta get this nasty thing out before New York.

Hope you’re all good. X

Now I plan my Ikea trips with military precision. It’s too far to go not to!!!

Snap! I also had a BCC removed from my forehead about 5yrs ago. I’m booked in to go get another suspicious spot checked soon too. Hoping it’s nothing….

Sorry you had an IKEA fail moment 🙁 I sometimes have many of those, but it’s always nice to have a look anyway! I LOVE the idea of framing the ‘good’ shopping bags! I always wondered what to do with my Tiffany’s one…now I know!!! Best wishes with your surgery, and can’t wait to see you back on The Block!!

Shame about Ikea…I have a friend heading to Sydney this week who has asked me if I want her to pick up anything so I am currently going over and over the catalogue, yay!

The right person won the Voice, what an awesome show, I did cry laughing though when Karise let out that wee giggle after she won and had to perform her single. We rewound it again and again last night cracking up more every time we watched it. How she held it together after that, I have no idea. I wouldn’t have, I am a terrible giggler! They just replayed that part again on Today, and I giggled about it all over again 🙂

I have a love hate relationship with IKEA. My visits need to be planned on the internet before I go so I know exactly what I’m looking for. Looking forward to Friday and the Live show. xT

Many a time have I been to Ikea and ended up with … scissors! Yep … cracked up when I read that. I think I feel compelled to buy *something* when I’ve driven nearly to the Gold Coast & back to visit Ikea in Brissie. Scissors, rather than their meatballs, is what’s been my “oh for god’s sake” buy. Mind you, we do have a whole walk in wardrobe that’s totally Ikea … fabulous! Bugger about the BCC. I think I should go and get checked out very soon as my older sister is getting another removed on Thursday. Nasty things! And where did you find that picture of the framed shopping bags? What a great idea for all of those beautiful bags we don’t really want to throw out because they’re so luxurious? Or did you do that on The Block last year???

What I did fail to mention yesterday is that although I looked at the frames for a very long time, I walked out with the set of 6 small plastic bowls for $2.

Oh no! I hate it when I go to Ikea and come out with NOTHING! I find I have to go back a second and third time to ‘realise what I need’ 😉 You know…I suddenly develop a penchant for SOMETHING!… and of course it’s a MUST HAVE! I did that with a kitchen cabinet/shelving thingy! And I have my eye on some book cases for my library! I found some photo frames I want more of…and…well the list is a bit endless now. My downfall was getting on the website and finding, as much as physically going in there. I have a feeling IKEA and I are going to be friends again soon! 😉 Good luck today for your appointment! Hope that’s over with fast! And yeah…the Voice. Not shocked at the win, but shocked at Sarah placing 4th! What’s that about!? Hmm… BRING ON BIG BROTHER I say and I Don’t want the Block to end…no siree Jimbob! Sigh! Oh well…all good things I guess…

That’s always the way isn’t it! I have to admit last time i went to Ikea I didn’t get anything big but did stock up on little vases, votives, fabric and other bits and pieces. It’s fun just for the inspiration though!

I’m giving away these cute numbered bottles on my blog which I think you might like Katrina, come and enter 🙂 xx

  • Julie-Ann

You walked out of Ikea with barely anything!!! Is that even possible lol???

  • le_third

dearie me … yucky skin things are a worry 🙂 crossing all it is nothing serious! best le xox

Ikea isn’t a trek for me, it’s just round the corner, BUT I never go there without a plan. I think it’s in the conditions of entry.
I don’t seem to be able to walk out without buying a packet of serviettes. They get me every time. I did however walk in there with the sole purpose of walking out empty handed. I did it. That day is marked on the calender, it will never happen again.
