I have seen a lot of coloured front doors pop up on Instagram lately. Pink, aqua, yellow, mint… I loved them! I’ve had it in my mind for a few months that I was going to paint mine pink when I got a spare minute. I warned my husband it was coming! Haha!
This was going to be an easy and cheap DIY project I could complete in a few hours.
I chose Pink Dust by Taubmans and purchased a 1L tin of water based gloss paint (although 500ml would easily do a door). I masked the area and got painting! I didn’t do the back, or the spine, only the front…
I went straight over my existing white gloss door. It took 3 coats. Make sure you buy a good paint brush.
And done! It’s a dusty/browny tone so it’s not too bright. Subtle and matches well with the shale grey weatherboards.
Excuse my spindly roses but it’s been hot. My job today is to trim them back so they can cycle again. Oh, and don’t build a weatherboard house if you can’t handle cobwebs because they are always hanging around!
