How did all this craziness of The Block happen?

Last year my sister and I decided to enter the competition. We had our mother, father and our husband’s roped in to help us with the filming. Mum, Josh and Andrew babysat while we filmed (although Andrew jumped in and helped us filmed some parts) and our Dad helped us put it all on disk to send away. We’ll show you the application tape if we get in!

So we sent it off and waited. I’d sort of forgotten about it really. Then on Tuesday afternoon (I’d been at the hospital that day and was not overly well from a bad reaction to a drug, so I was not thinking straight) my sister rang me screaming and laughing! The lovely Eliza from McGregor Casting rang her and asked could we be in Sydney on Thursday. Hell yeah! I wasn’t with it, so I went to bed and woke up Wednesday and it hit me….I was going to Sydney to audition for The Block!

Wednesday saw a flurry of phone calls, lots of shopping (for a new outfit) and booking flights. Hubby was so excited and had all the kids under control so I could just drop everything and take off.

I met my sister in Sydney early yesterday morning. We had breakfast and chatted furiously about our plan of what to say. We even bought house magazines and started organising our ‘style’!! Excited much??

The morning was long. We headed to Redfern in a cab at about 11.30am as our audition was at 12pm. We had no idea what to expect! We were only told to bring something from home to talk about as an ice-breaker.

This is number 18 Charles Street. This is where we were told to go. So we hung around out the front for a while (we were giggling like school girls with nerves!) because we were early.
