House update: the fix out is almost done

Firstly, I wanted to say thank you for your overwhelming support yesterday. I am feeling a bit better again today and my attention has turned to my new house! It’s powering along… we’re almost there.

I’ve got finials to go on the gables, plantation shutters to come and of course it will need landscaping.

22

These are the door profiles I chose.

13

That’s the back of the front door.

14

This is the door furniture. Gainsborough gave me all of these. I am very grateful. They are called ROYALE and you can see them here.

This is my laundry door. I love it! I can imagine a cute roman blind on here – in pineapples, flamingos…?? 😉

23

The front lounge room. I will have cabinetry built across the bottom of this, but I wanted to move in first and see how my lounges worked etc.

21

Kids wardrobes. Enough space?? Heeeyah!

25

And check out this room. An entire laundry storage room!

Part of my pantry.

Above are a few views of the kitchen so far. The island will be one of the last things to go in. The floorboards are being laid over the weekend. I cannot wait for those!!!

26

Part of my laundry. I am buying a new washing machine this week and I have a pull out washing basket in those drawers. I had that in my last house and it was one of my most favourite things ever!

12

This is the ensuite. I decided on mirrors vanity-to-ceiling. They are huge! I’m in ♥. I didn’t want tiles and splashbacks. I wanted simple and grand. Yes, the spit all over them will be fun! Haha. The kids bathroom has a double vanity so it’s twice the size. The tiling is happening as we speak. I’ve done really simple. No features, no fuss. Oh to the left there is the shower. Both showers are nib walls – no shower screens! I hated cleaning them.

So that’s where we are up to! There is a lot also happening over the next few days, but we’re almost done. Can’t wait!

I love everything about your home Katrina. My favourite thing would have to be ALL the storage. In my mind nothing is more important. You have done a great job, thrilled for you and I can imagine you all being very happy here. Thanks for sharing all the goodness with us all.

Hi Katrina, it looks so lovely! You must be itching to get in. You mentioned that you wanted a blind for the laundry door, however if you would like it custom made frosted with any design you like, I would love to help. Have a think, and let me know.

    OMG I want your house.
    Every detail is spot on
I need to build a few more times before I get it right….
Love the cupboard space in the pantry and the laundry. HEAVEN
Door handles are gorgeous. I got talked out if the full glass laundry door, which now pisses me off as it looks fantastic.

Love it! I would be in laundry heaven with that storage!! I’ve been looking at lots of plans lately for our dream house and big laundries are tough to find. Loving the bench to ceiling mirror too. Who cares about the spit, our mirror is small and it still manages to get spit on it every day. Glad you’re feeling better too xx

Hi K, WOW, the house looks great and once that flooring goes in it’s gonna look a million bucks. Love all your storage (we’ve also got a spot for the kids’ schoolbags – they’re just like little lockers with pegs to hang their bags on as well as enough room for library bags, swimming bags and all their other paraphernalia.) I imagine you are starting to think about the move in day. Hope you’re feeling much better today:) xx

I have pull-out washing drawers in my launcry too ( or will have, when it goes in .. next week I think ? 🙂

    Looking good Katrina!

How exciting to see it getting so close! You must be about to burst just wanting to get in there. I was just the same, I don’t know how I would have coped if our house had taken the full seven months they quoted, instead of just over 4!
We have mega landscaping to do as well… money though?! To try and save making too many mistakes, I’ve actually mocked up a photo-fit of our front garden to check if our fence and tree choices will suit – and they do!

It’s looking really good Katrina. Bet you can’t wait to get in there! How good would a magic wand be so the moving & unpacking gets done all by itself!!

Looking lovely!!! Glad you are feeling better too. Katrina, the floor plan looks really practical. Will you be sharing the floorplan?

Wow-I LOVE all of that storage. It’s amazing to be able to hide everything away and have everything have a home.
    Can’t wait for the tour!
