This week  found a very different timber-framed house. Could you live with all the exposed beams? I think the house looks amazing and warm and inviting. It’s very country-industrial with the fire place and metal finishes.

The living space includes the original mezzanine from the 19th century barn extension, which is now an extra dining space and children’s play area. Part of the attraction of the old building was that the posts and beams are bigger than in modern construction, the wood is untreated, and the pieces are slotted together.

The light fitting over the dining table is a winner!
