DIY non toxic JIF

I’ve added another non-toxic cleaning product to my cupboard with a DIY. Here’s a list of other items I’ve replaced too if you want to check that out.

I don’t need to use JIF all the time, but occasionally I need to get the beetroot off the benches, the marks off the doors, the dirt out of the bath and so on…

Once you own a couple of non-toxic products you will save money because you are using them for so many things – like the castile soap etc. PLUS, I re-used a fractionated coconut bottle to store my new JIF in.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup bi-carb soda
  • 1/4 cup castile soap (buy online or from your local health food shop)
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 20 drops clove essential oil (you can halve that and add lemon if you want). Clove oil has biological activities, such as antibacterial, antifungal, insecticidal and antioxidant properties.

Mix together to create a paste like above. I did need to add a smidgen more castile soap and a little splash of water to get the right consistency, but you can decided on what you want. If you want to pour it in to a bottle so it’s runnier use the leftover fractionated coconut oil bottle for this. Or if you would like the paste to be thicker, then just put it in a glass jar.

I have some diamond sponges (buy from ebay). they are excellent for cleaning! Of course you can use whatever sponge you like!

That’s it. So easy!

Happy cleaning. ♥ KC.

Quick way of cleaning oven racks – fill bath with hot water and tip a scoop of laundry powder in it. Stir to dissolve then put racks in and let soak while you clean oven!! A little bit of elbow grease with scourer
And they are like brand new.
