Cleaning product of the week: Tile & Grout Cleaner

I don’t mind a good clean up around the home and I am a sucker for a cleaning product! I like a new potion which claims things will be restored to brand new. I also thought I might introduce a new weekly blog post title (if I can keep up!) titled “Cleaning Product Of The Week….” I will trial a new one every week for different parts of my home. I will also do some environmentally friendly options too, because we would all prefer to use those. I’ll mix it up!

Today I have the Long Life Tile & Grout Cleaner. You can buy this from Bunnings for $10.

Grab a scrubbing brush and put on some old clothes…

This was my yucky shower. This is the boys’ bathroom, so they are grotty!!

I sprayed it on all the grout. I did this only on light grey and white coloured grout. Test an inconspicuous patch (always read the label!) before spraying on a dark coloured grout. It claims to lighten and brighten, so I wouldn’t be confident using it on a dark grout.

It was also very potent. I coughed when spraying, so don’t use this if you get headaches or can’t stand strong smells.

After about 15 minutes I headed back in to the bathroom, used the scrubbing brush to lift the muck in the grout areas and I was so IMPRESSED! You can see in the photo above the grout was looking brighter. I then just simply rinsed the shower and was done!

This will be a new staple cleaning product in my house I think. I wouldn’t need to use it every week, just every now and then when the bathroom is looking a little worse for wear.

Happy cleaning! Come back next week for a new product. If you have any suggestions, or would like to send me something to trial feel free to email me β™₯KC.

I use easy off bam foam for the showers. Works well. Would you recommend this for floor tiles, Katrina?

How good is this stuff…to avoid needing a scrubbing brush use this and a magic eraser pad at the same time , I didn’t even need to wait 5 minutes and there’s no elbow grease required at all!

We picked this up on the weekend based on your recommendation. From the same aisle at bunnings we also got a rubbermaid reveal power scrubber – basically like an electric toothbrush for cleaning books and crannies – together they’re a game changer for our white floors w white grout (!).

Right I’m off to get that!
My new home has mould stuck in the silicon in the shower.
    Would it lift this?

Possibly! Otherwise you may need to scrape the silicone and start over. It’s pretty easy to do.

To remove mould behind silicone you need to remove silicone first, clean it thoroughly. Nothing can get behind the silicone, well apart from mould.

I love trying different cleaning products. Have you seen the adds on FB for the cleaning product ekoWorx? I bought some after a friend raved to me about it. It is amazing. My 10 yr old oven looks brand new and the floors are a not streaky!! Definitely worth giving a try. (I don’t sell it etc, just a happy customer).
