Today is the last day. 7 weeks together 24/7 is A LOT of family time. Tomorrow, when they all go back to school, feels like I am about to start holidays. Ha! Yeah of course I am not looking forward to the uniforms, lunches and all the running around, but I am looking forward to some peace, quiet, routine and A CLEAN HOUSE. You know I like my clean house. I can’t think straight when it’s messy. But first up tomorrow… hair colour. I am grey, so very grey and I need that sorted pronto. The boys have added 100 new strands of grey these holidays. 😉

I also have a list of little DIY projects I want to get done. None of these get done when the kids are home from school eating all day. And whinging. Geez my kids have been good on the whinge lately. Especially this past week. Last night when we were watching the tennis one child went on and on about his birthday (in 8 weeks!). I said to my husband they need school big time when they start that up!

We’ve tried on the uniforms, bought new shoes, new lunch boxes, had haircuts and we’re ready to roll…

So what are my plans for 2017? Hmmm…. nothing record breaking. Just the same old, same old I think. Lots of blogging, working with new homes and clients, and hopefully some more projects around my home. My brother will be getting married, I am turning 40 (eeek!) and my big boy and husband are supposed to going to India to play cricket. That sounds like a pretty big year to me!

Cruise is in Year 9 (he turns 15 in 3 weeks), Tex is in Year 6 (he’s 12 in 2 months) and Chevy is in Year 5 (he’s 11 later this year). So I’ve got Tex in high school next year, then Chevy the year after that. I feel like Primary school will be done and dusted before I know it. You know this also means Cruise can get his L Plates in 12 months?? Wowsers. Look out.

I am hoping my health holds up. I spent a couple of days at St Vincent’s Melbourne last week. Surgeon said “come back in a month and we’ll have a chat about a few things.” Hmmmmm not sure I like the sound of that. But I feel really well this week, so I just take it day by day. Admittedly 2016 was a bit rough. I’ve changed a lot of my food habits and noticeably I’ve lost a lot of weight which has concerned some people, but it’s been for the better. Currently I have a bet with my husband that if he quits sugar, bread and all alcohol for the month of February he’ll drop a few kgs easily. And we’re pretty competitive so he’s determined to do it. [We’ll see how long he can reeaaallllly go with out beer!] 😉

Today I suppose I’d better fill the pantry back up, iron the uniforms and keep the blinds closed (it’s going to be 43 today!). Happy Monday everyone.

    Oh I’m hearing you! My littlest starts kinder today, 7 year old back to school tomorrow, 15 year old on Wednesday so I’ve still got three days before I get complete peace and quiet!! Which happens to also be my birthday so that will be the BEST present! Lol

      We just come back from Japan then off to New Zealand in June and Perth for Christmas and hopefully some long weekends in between. Then back to saving again next yr.

    I’m about to start a challenge with Shorty from Fitter faster stronger that includes no alcohol for Feb but you can get a leave pass for an event but it means I have to do 100 burpees! Maybe hubby needs a few incentives to keep him going strong. I have 1 night out planned and those drinks had better taste good to make up for the burpees
