Around here lately

Hiiiii! Thanks for popping in today. It’s been a few weeks since my last photo dump and catch up! We got through Christmas, the extremely hot holidays and finally the kids are back at school. I Kon-Mari’d the living daylights out of my house (just like the rest of the word I think hahaha!).

This year has started out pretty good! I have one child who has left school and is working full time. He bought his own car and is going for his P-plates in 3 weeks. Eeeekkk. Then my other 2 are back together at the same school (my baby started high school!). Their school is only a few minutes from our house so life has suddenly become so much easier.

I am working full time until the end of March for friend. It’s a BIG change in what I normally do, so I am loving the variety. Something different.

But also I have a trip to Vietnam with my husband in 2 weeks. We’re heading away with the doTERRA crew and I am so pumped.

This time last year I was getting organised to have colostomy surgery, and this year I’m working full time and about to head overseas. Wow, I would not have predicted that. I am so grateful.

Here’s a big photo dump from what’s been happening around here lately…

I mostly water my plants like this – from the bottom up. Here’s more tips on how to water your plants.

Hanging out at the Wagga Beach (aka the river ;).

When the boys get clever with the gazebo over the pool!

I scored a massive elkhorn. See more about that here.

My father-in-law turned 85. This is me and a couple of my sister-in-law’s. We’re a massive family. Everyone loves this man more than anything in the world. My husband talks to him every day, visits him almost just as much! I love their bond.

And this is my Nan! She’s just turned 84. I don’t to see her as much as I would like though. She’s such a gorgeous Nan. Loves to chat about anything and everything – like what’s been on the news, politics, cricket, footy! How lucky am I to still have a Nan?! (different day, same clothes I realised haha)

My boys. Monsters, food thieves, rough as guts, but the absolute loves of my LIFE.

My big kid and I got a helicopter ride over Wagga for New Year’s Eve. AMAZING!

The littlest.

Even my husband got the cleaning bug! Haha. He cleaned my lounges without me even mentioning it. 😉

He bought his own car!

My succulent garden is lush!

Spent a few days with friends out and about.

Hey little boy!

School shoes. WHY SO EXPENSIVE?! 😉

So much of this in the hols!

The world of chronic illness works in strange ways…. This time last year I was gearing up for surgery and could barely get up most days. Fast forward and now I’m gearing up for a holiday in Vietnam and have taken on 8 weeks full time work! I haven’t worked full time since I was 20 years old. But my friend offered me an awesome gig to help her out for a couple of months and I had no reason to say no! I can easily be out and about now without worrying once about a toilet. My motivation is high and I’m running with it. I had no idea how easy this little bag would be. And see, you’d never know with my big girl undies keeping it all neat under my clothes!

These 2! I never ever thought they looked alike, but after seeing them in this photo I think maybe they do!!

If you want to make your own cleaning products (low-tox), then head here for some inspiration.

My plant game is still strong! You can never have too many right? I had this strange dream last week where I thought I had to many and I couldn’t tidy up my house because they were everywhere hahaha! Not a sign???

Oh, and I watched The Handmaid’s Tale. I have never binged a show like that before. I missed the boat originally. OMG best show I’ve ever seen. My friend’s say I need to start Outlander next. On to it!

See you again soon! Come over to my instagram if you want to follow me more often. ♥ KC.

    Katrina, you look so well!

Thank you so much for sharing your story … I have a similar(ish) health issue which sometimes makes me just want to hide under the doona. Your posts give me a bit of a kick up the butt to get moving – just what I need.

I can’t believe how grown up your boys are now … time certainly does fly.

Have a wonderful time in Vietnam 🙂

    Hi Katrina,
Oh I love The handmaids tale ❤️ too. Can’t wait for April when season 3 starts.
I really enjoy your blog and follow you on Instagram 😀
You were also my favourite along with your sister on the show the block ❤️😀

Katrina, I just wanted to comment (again!) to say your blog brings me so much joy. I haven’t commented in ages but I read it all the time (I check twice-weekly for updates). You remind me so much of my lovely local vet here in NZ – looks, mannerisms (I remember you well from The Block), it’s uncanny! And I love seeing all your photos … your scenery (especially of your few days away with friends) is much like what we have here … the same, but different …

Thank you for this blog – I just love it.
