Am I allowed to start counting down now until school goes back?? While it’s gone quick, it’s been a very busy holiday period. I feel like I’ve hardly been home. And next week I’m off to Melbourne again for a few days. I’m having a sleepover at the hospital so I am reaaalllly not looking forward to that. Argh.
Anyway, here’s my usual photo dump and catch up of what’s been happening around here lately…
We had a day trip to Lake Talbot at Narrandera. The kids love to wear themselves out on the slide!
When your friend builds an amazing new house with views to die for and we all hang out there for hours on end…
The kitchen has been getting a BIG work out at my house. I can’t keep up with the food. I try really hard to make them clean up their mess though.
We’ve just spent a week in Orange for cricket. It was HOT. And when I say hot, I mean like hell hot. I can only imagine how terrible all those kids felt playing cricket because I was unable to handle sitting on the sidelines sometimes! Wagga can get to a top of 43-44 degrees and that’s unbearable, but one day Orange got to I think 38 degrees and it felt like 50 degrees! Apparently that’s the hottest day in Orange in 25 years. I don’t know why 38 degrees felt so bad, but maybe because Orange is much higher than Wagga? I’ve never felt so drained. Anyway, enough of the weather whinging ha! My big boy played very good cricket consistently so the trip was worthwhile.
The boys cooled off at Lake Canobolas. Isn’t that a lovely spot? Have you been there? There were people everywhere enjoying the day.
We stayed in cabins all together. The trips we do away with the kids and their sport are some of the best fun I’ve ever had. My son’s mates are there, and the parents are my friends. We laugh, drink, eat and talk for hours… And there’s always something that happens that will make you laugh for years to come! I’ll look back on these trips as some of the best days of our lives. That’s why I don’t want my boys to grow up!!
Sneaky photo. 15 years old in a couple of weeks. Bigger than his Dad this month. We’ve been measuring!
You can’t go to Orange without visiting Jumbled. Love that shop!
We also called in to the Lucknow Skin Shop. I finally purchased a cowhide. I’ve been wanting one for years and years. Photo below… They also sell online and I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing.
Kmart is doing my head in. I said no more ages ago. I had decided I had enough. But then the green dipped pot and velvet cushions somehow landed in my home!
Cowhide in situ. I am tossing up whether to leave it in this room or put in another. Hmmm…. when I get time I’ll fiddle around no doubt.
So that’s what’s been happening around here lately. Oh, I bought school shoes yesterday. $384 later. Lordy lord.
Have a great weekend. KC.
