This area is not quite finished and I do need a better before+after photo, but the transformation already is impressive!
See the before? Wow. It was in bad condition. The 40+ year old carpet revealed the most stunning cypress pine floors underneath. These were professionally finished (I wasn’t going to attempt a DIY on these!).
Also, as you can see, I opened the wall up. It was load bearing so it needed a beam across the top and plastered in with nib walls to keep the house standing! My carpenter mate did this job as I’m not that clever haha.
Then in this corner I added roller blockout blinds and sheers. The whole room feels huge now.
