6 Awesome Ways to Use Eucalyptus Around the Home

Eucalyptus is a great essential oil to have on hand as it can be used to clean so many areas around the home.

A little goes a long way and its scent can offer a refreshing aroma around the house.

Check out these 6 awesome ways you can use Eucalyptus around your home.

  1. Remove pee smell from the toilet

With a household full of boys, misfires can be common. This can result in a pongy toilet. Remove the urinal smell from your toilet by adding a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to the toilet bowl and adding it to a spray bottle (10 drops to  1 cup of water) and spray on the tiles around the toilet bowl. Your nose will thank you and so will everyone else using that toilet.

  1. Remove stickers and residue

There is nothing worse than not being able to peel a sticker off a new container or home décor item.

If you have residue left on a glass jar or plastic container, use 1-2 drops of essential oil on a cloth and rub over the offending spot to remove the residue.

  1. Clean Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is notorious for showing fingerprints and grime. To get the surface back to a gleaming finish, add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to a damp cloth and clean where needed.

You can use eucalyptus oil to clean stainless steel appliances, cooktops, tapware and cupboard handles just to name a few.

  1. Clean the floor

Eucalyptus oil can be used as a floor cleaner, diluted in a bucket of hot water. Eucalyptus is a natural disinfectant so it can remove nasties from your floor and provide a fresh fragrance in the home. 20-25 drops in bucket of hot water or 10-15 drops in a 500ml spray bottle can help keep your floors looking fresh.

  1. Add to your washing

Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to your next load of washing if it is smelling a bit musty. The natural fragrance will freshen and clean your load at the same time.

It can also remove dust mites, so the next time you wash the bed linen, add a few drops with your laundry detergent.

  1. Remove mould and mildew

Eucalyptus offers a natural combat to mould and mildew. Not only can it remove the spores, it can also prevent further growths. Mix a few drops with hot water and scrub the offending area. The scent will also remove the smell of mould and mildew in damp spaces like the bathroom.
