Oh, what do I think, you ask?
Well, I’m team J & J all the way! 100% behind them.
I knew about the cast a couple of months ago. BUT, if I was offered $100k to go back on the show I would have said no thanks. It’s not the show, I LOVE the show, I love the renovating, I LOVE tv .. it’s the social media. I said to Jenna “WHY???” Why would you do that to yourself again? I was laughing and laughing at her! They are so tough and positive and good on them. More power to them.
The competition will be on like Donkey Kong between J&J and D&D. They won’t fight as much between themselves, I’m sure of that (because they watched themselves back on tv)! I’m worried for Amity. They had an easy run when their show was on – it’s all changed since then and they have left 2 kids behind – with both of them on the show. At least I had my husband at home to keep our kids happy! I also reckon social media will eat them alive. Mark & Duncan will love it and sail through giving us a lot of laughs!
After the announcement on Facebook last weekend within half an hour the comments were getting heavy. I dragged my husband out of bed and just said “look at this, thank god it’s not me.” No amount of money could have opened me up to that Facebook page again. I think when Amie and I did the show in 2011, it was just the beginning of the partnership between social media and reality tv. I think we copped it, but by the time this series airs it will be almost 2 years later and social media has got heavier and heavier. It will be scary to see where the link between tv and social media heads in the next 5 years…
Anyway, I can’t wait for the show. I can’t wait to see what happens! No doubt it’ll be harder, because they know what they’re in for.
The show will most likely air just after Australia Day 2013 (or thereabouts).
Oh, and as far as I know the couples are playing for money again (for them to keep), so it’ll be full on!
