[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last night on The Block Octagon we saw the last guest bedroom and ensuite reveal. Taking out first prize with a $10,000 cash injection in to their budget was Caro and Kingi. The judges gave them 28.5/30 with lots of priase to go with it. Shaynna said “I don’t say this often but to me this couple has so much talent I hope they do this as a career.”
We saw more render and more graffiti. Each bedroom did have use the bedhead they created last week in a challenge. Again the bed making skills were lazy – that must be the look they are going for? Very teenager-ish! Their apartment will appeal to the young and it’s looking very masculine. I did like the barn door again on the bathroom – I always like those!

“I have to say I quite like this. The previous one completely overwhelmed me. I felt like I was backed into a corner by it,” Neale Whitaker said.
They’ve stuck to their style again – dark with a splash of Melbourne artwork. I like the linen/seagrass wallpaper behind the bed. It’s very hotel looking. Their bathroom was not very special at all. I just don’t like their style – but that’s just me![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Dean and Shay were in 3rd place again last night. The judges said their room was good but they lost out on a few practical mistakes (like only one hanging space in the wardrobe). While their concrete and brass feature wall earned praise. I LOVE that wall.
Their ensuite was faultless. “It’s like they’ve thought outside the square… it feels expensive; it says ‘this is the penthouse apartment’,” Neale said.
I wasn’t keen on the wall colour, but that ensuite sink and vanity makes up for it – it’s very cool!
[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator][vc_column_text]Whitney and Andy were 4th this week. They were awarded 23.5/30. They finished their room this week! The orange wall is the first thing you see when you enter the room. I just can’t look at it. Orange makes me nervous! I like their bedhead and the bedside lamps. I love the pastels on the bed too. But that’s about it.
“They are not targeting their buyer; they don’t know who they’re selling to,” Shaynna said.
[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Last again on the board this week were Luke and Ebony. They were given 22/30 for their art deco room. I am cringing. The whole room is not great and I don’t like the wall colour. They had to use their bedhead from the challenge, so there was nothing they could do there.
“Let’s hope this is the last time we see this (art deco) influence in this apartment,” Neale said. It is very dated and Darren said the bedroom felt old-fashioned and Shaynna said it was morbid and dark. The bathroom (while I love the tiles – but used in a different style!) wasn’t great and the vanity was wrong.

So what did you think about the rooms last night??
