Cleaning product of the week: Squirt + Mop Floorboard Cleaner

I tried this Method floor cleaner for the first time last week and I thought it was excellent. It’s surface safe, non-toxic, plant-based and actually smells amazing! I picked it up off the shelf and thought the squirt & mop situation sounded good.

I have been using the same floor cleaner for years and haven’t varied off it, but this one looked interesting. I think I’ll permanently swap to this one because it’s also kinder to the environment. I’ve discovered there are also other scents but this one was almond. You can also buy refills for the squirt bottle which is handy.

I have real floating timber floors (colour is spotted gum). They do show marks and I have 3 boys and 2 inside dogs, so I do need to mop often (I only do it once a week, but am sure I could do it more often if I could be bothered!).

I squirted it on, and started mopping ( I always use a hot water mop). The only downfall is that you have to carry the bottle with you wherever you go, or if you squirt a heap on you’ll need to be careful not to step on it when you’re going back and forth….

I am so impressed. My floors look amazing. There’s no smears or milky residue. I only needed to mop over the floor once. I just sprinkled the cleaner around and the mop spread it.

The smell is the best part!

I bought this in Woolies for about $4.50 on sale.

Happy cleaning. ♥ KC.

Have you tried mopping with a little white vinegar and warm water? Does this work better than the vinegar? Your floors look amazing 💗

I’m not overly fond of the smell of vinegar Julie-Ann. I have tried that before and yes vinegar works great, but I liked this better XX

We have the spotted gum timber too. I’ll have to try this! We haven’t been in our home that long and we have a few marks on our floor too, have you had yours polished at all?
