I ended 2011 on a happy & fun note.

I could not have wished for a more fun day than to spend it with some of my favourite friends.

That’s my friend Mel and I on the biscuits. Perfectly shellac-ed toes and fingers. Not a chip on them after that.

Today I cannot wipe the kitchen bench, cough or use the bathroom properly… My other friend Alyssa had a massive floatation thingy you lay on called the Fire of Hell and my husband and I decided to lay on it together. This thing lifts you in the air and you need to hold on for dear life! Poor Chambo fell of 3 times and I didn’t fall off once (maybe that’s why I am so sore!). I squealed with laughter the whole time.

Best day. I did end 2011 on a happy, clutter-free and clean life. #livingsimple2012.

My bloggy will continue to grow. I managed well over 1,000,000 hits on it this year. You’ll see more youtube videos, more of my family and I, more fun, more home/wardrobe advice and I’ll share my ups and downs.

Thanks for hanging around…

Today starts a new chapter. Bring it on.

My new make-up thanks to my Mum

She always knows what to buy. She always buys me sheets, towels, fancy shampoo/conditioner and this year I found these goodies also tucked in to a cute make-up bag. She proudly showed me what the colour of the nail polish looked like on her toes (“I had to give it a go Katrina”.. haha!).

I’ve already ripped in to them and used them all!

Thanks Mum!

PS. I bought that new bed finally I was talking about here. We are picking it up after lunch. I’ve gone for a king, so I’ll need to buy all new stuff for it (although thanks to Mum, she already bought me the sheets). I can’t wait to sleep in it. Andrew has mentioned more than once “we have to break it in.” #eyeroll

PPS. I’ve been having a few off moments this past week and A-M sent me this yesterday…

Whatever your problem or challenge may be, laugh at it. Laugh long and hard.

Because you are forever and it is temporary.

It was just what I needed.

Today I am going to clean out some more clutter while Andrew takes the kids fishing.

Happy Thursday! x

The day has been and gone

Just like that Christmas Day is over. We’ve been counting down for months. The boys are tired and now we get to relax.

Below is a photo of Amie and I on Christmas Day. Not long after this she became ill with a violent vomiting bug. Poor thing. She was supposed to be sleeping over, but they had to pack up and head back to Albury. Her daughter was not happy about that, she so is staying here with me for a few days. I love having her too. Here is a cute video of her and I having a sing-off to my favourite song (if you watched The Block, you’ll remember!) Dynamite. Ha!

Christmas Day exercise to burn off lunch before desert! I am swimming with sunglasses on up the back ;)

Today we might visit some of Andrew’s family, depending on the weather. I’ve just read we are in for some big storms! I know Melbourne was lashed with horrendous weather yesterday.

Happy Boxing Day x.

I’m still waiting for Santa to deliver these things…

5 things I do before my Mum arrives on Christmas Day

(PS. Do NOT tell her I was eating mint slice biscuits in my bed at lunch time!)

1. Buy paper towel. She always asks for it and has a use for it. I never buy it normally.
2. Clean out the crumbs in the cutlery drawer.
3. Clean behind the toilet door.
4. Cut my kids finger nails.
5. Remind my husband NOT to have the air-conditioning blaring (she’ll bring a jumper anyway). She’s a cold frog and will do that shiver with her shoulders.

BUT, I love her and wouldn’t have it any other way!
