Remember the cooking challenge we did on The Block? Well, we won with this recipe…
My Nan makes it and now we make it!
Ok, so I am NOT a cook. Not good at it. Although, I am capable, it’s just that I don’t enjoy it. I cook for survival.
But this one is easy! I can do this one!
Ingredients
1 onion
Bacon
1 carrot
2 potato
1 cooked barbecue chicken, with meat removed from carcass
1 can corn kernels
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1/2 L milk
Instructions
Saute onion and diced bacon. Add dice carrot and diced potato. Add the chicken, then the can of corn kernels (including the juice). Add the can of soup, then the milk.
Simmer for 30 mins or until veggies are soft.
Garnish with salt and pepper and serve with crusty bread.

So easy! Let me know if you make it too.
Oh and while I’m on the topic of food, my husband likes to make bruschetta every few weekends. I love this stuff!

Complete with Christmas plate and all
PS. Yes, be shocked that I even took photos of food prepared by myself! This is the first and last time you’ll see my blog turn in to a food blog hahaha! I’m just not creative at all in that area! I’ll leave the food blogging to the experts
I’m the kinda girl who flicks past the recipes as fast as I can in the magazines. My sister comes to my house and rips them all out as she knows I’ll never look at them. I’m just not that in to food. I go to restaurants and order the same thing every time. I’m not adventurous at all!
Enjoy…

I would wear them all day, every day, if I could.
Today is going to be one of those days. I’m not taking them off (except for footy training later today).
Do you even come home from being somewhere and get back in to your pyjamas?
I will get dressed nice for the day, but as soon as I get home from something (doesn’t matter if I have to go out again) I’ll change back in to them. My neighbours see me in my pj’s every day. I have to explain that I was dressed for the day, but these are more comfortable when at home.
I even strip off my bra! I have all sorts of pj’s. Of course I own some animal print ones too!
So do you abuse your pj’s like I do? Or do you have favourite ‘house clothes’?

This makes me laugh every time. I’ve seen it on facebook lots, but it still cracks me up.
I’ll wear pj’s before I wear a tracksuit. I don’t even think I own a proper tracksuit (that’s another blog post lol!).
I live in either slippers or havaiana thongs. I cannot walk around the house in bare feet. No way! Cracked heels and dirty feet just aren’t my thing.
It’s pyjamas all the way – every day.
What about you? Tracksuit, pj’s, no bra, house clothes??
Bring it on today.
PS. Remember my incessant nagging for you to vote for me in Kidspot Top 50 Bloggers? Well I’ve made it to the Top 5. OMG! Thank you everyone. OK, so we’ve still got a bit to do and I’ll be pleading for your help again. Why? Cos you might win $5,000 cash and I need to go to New York to BlogHer (massive blogging conference) so I can be the one bringing back all the latest stuff that’s happening in the blogging world. You know I am a sharer, so I want to be the one reporting and sharing everything I learn at this big blogging conference. Thank you for being such good support! I’ll keep you posted on how you can help me get over the line. In the meantime, I get to drive a Ford Territory for a month, so if you see me in it around Wagga make sure you toot!

There is a suburb opening up behind us and we thought we’d take the kids for a look around. They grabbed their bikes and husband and I headed off on foot with out little doggie.
The fresh roads and no cars made this ‘bike track’ the best fun ever, so the boys said.

Yes, I always have an extra big kid on my hands who swaps with the 10 year old…

Not without an injury of course…

The back-end of my pooch and I…

The Chambo’s gang.

It was a lovely afternoon here in Wagga Wagga. A quiet day. A far cry from the events of the weekend before.
I spent the weekend ‘working’. Sometimes it’s the only time I get! A new website went live, a couple of blogs were finished and I have started so many more. I am grateful The Media Maid is doing so well. My husband thinks I need to employ people seriously… Hmm.. I’m not sure as it means a huge step!
School is back today, school is back today, school is back today! Do you think I am excited?! Oh boy, the last week has been hard work with them. Back to some routine.
Today I am having a photo-shoot for the Wagga Gold Cup Races wearing some cute outfits. Speaking of clothes, I picked up this trench coat yesterday from Portmans. Will be perfect to wear with everything all Winter long.
Ok, gotta run. School lunches to makes, shirts to iron and hair and make-up to be done…

A bit of this.
If you’ve built a new house before you’ll know it takes a while to get things going…
This will be house build number 3 for us, so while I pretty much know the process of things, it’s the finances that take the longest to get sorted.
Banks are not what they used to be.
When we first built a house 10 years ago, I think finances were organised in about a week. Paperwork was minimal. But now, with the GFC and so many banks to choose from in the marketplace it can be confusing and hard work. My husband’s business has a hundred different areas to it, I’m self-employed… blah blah. Normally, we’d go to our credit union (my husband has been with this bank since he left school), but this time we’ve gone through a broker. Best idea ever (thanks A-M).
So I’m still waiting for the last of the paperwork to be finalised, but in the meantime, I have my block of land and some plans which have kept me busy sketching and changing and envisaging.
We’re not building the taj mahal, just an average family home (I still want to be able to comfortably buy my groceries and pay school fees each week!). But it’s going to be exciting though!
Stay tuned. Hopefully my plans can be finalised in the next month. So as soon as things all come together, we’ll be off and racing!
Yes, I’ll be blogging it all. After all, it’ll be you who’ll make all the decisions for me. You’re the best people to ask!

I haven’t posted much from around my house in a long time. Just wasn’t feelin’ it. You know how it gets! So here are some pictures of some of my stuff. I’ll give you a tour of my new bed-head when I finally finish it. So far Aqua is winning followed by Fuchsia! Have you voted? Click here to see what I’m talking about…
I’m leaning towards Fuchsia or even Yellow.. gasp! I know! I have so much aqua in my house already. I have aqua cushions on my lounge, aqua vases… but I do love it. Hmmmm.. decisions! Amie is currently making a bed-head too. yeah, we do everything together. Hers is out of hessian. I’ll get some pictures for you when it’s done.
…
My littlest kid starts big boy school today. I am going to be emotional! This is a big step for our family. My eldest will be 10 in a few weeks so I’ve been the ‘carer’ for so long. My husband says time for a job Katrina. Ha! See that, I laughed. Haha.. still laughing! No, really, I have contract work all year, so I’m looking forward to 2012. Bring it on!
This means tomorrow’s blog post will be the obligatory school photos of my boys
Have a great day! x
