A bedside table before & after

Morning! Over the weekend I went to a garage sale with my bestie, and when I find a bargain I do not hold back! Actually I found a couple of bargains! Here is one of them…

One my my boy’s needed a new bedside table and I had been hunting for ages. Then this little fella jumped out. I knew he’d be perfect with a lick of paint…

He was of the laminate-70’s-retro-kind, so he needed a little bit of prep. That’s where the grip-lock primer came in. I removed the drawer knob, taped up the little metal feet and slapped on 2 coats of the primer, followed by 2 coats of the colour – Dulux ‘Shampoo’. I used about 100mls, so the 500ml can wasn’t necessary!

Then…. here he is!

Remember I am obsessed with all thing ‘names’?

If you saw my Instagram yesterday I had styled it a little different, so check that out too 🙂

Come back tomorrow because I created a bed-head for my bed too over the weekend. It’s a real treat!

How good is a garage sale?? 🙂

Looks fantastic Katrina, love the colour, and love making old news new again.
Look forward to seeing the bedhead. My hubby is off away this week so my son and I are painting 🙂

What a fab find!! I’ve got a few pieces that need a bit of paint…thanks for the tip on the primer. How does the low sheen paint finish go on furniture? Not too dull? Scratch proof?

LOVE the colour. It is the same colour I have just done a side table in. We clearly share the same taste 😉 x

Looks great Katrina. Tell me, did you have to give the table a light sanding first or did you just go straight on with the primer?

    V 🙂

      Straight to the primer 🙂

Looks great. I’m loving the fact that I can’t see any power cords, did u have the points put in a little higher? I dislike my cords being visible, pet hate with older home 🙂
Great room for ur little man!
